JCL SPACE Parameter Calculator

This tool helps you calculate the optimal SPACE parameter for your JCL datasets, ensuring efficient disk allocation. Whether you're working with partitioned (PDS) or sequential (PS) datasets, enter your dataset details, and the calculator will determine the appropriate primary and secondary space allocations in tracks or cylinders.

High-level qualifiers followed by dataset name, max 44 characters (e.g., SYSP.TEST.JCL). Each qualifier max 8 chars, must start with a letter or @#$, up to 6 qualifiers.
F (Fixed): All records same length FB (Fixed Blocked): Multiple fixed-length records per block V (Variable): Records can vary in length VB (Variable Blocked): Multiple variable-length records per block U (Undefined): No predefined record format
Logical Record Length - maximum length of a record (1-32760)
Volume Serial Number - 1 to 6 alphanumeric characters (e.g., SYSDSK)
